TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WWSB) - Gov. Ron DeSantis said Florida has positioned search-and-rescue teams, utility crews and transportation workers ahead of expected storm impacts. The state has high-water vehicles, small rescue vessels and other assets available if flooding makes roads unsafe, DeSantis said.“There will also potentially be needs to do waterborne rescues on the interior part of northwest Florida,” DeSantis said. “If the water rises with the saturation, you could absolutely have situations where it will not be safe to drive a normal vehicle through flooded roads.”Isaias strengthens into Category 3 hurricane on path toward the US Gulf CoastDeSantis said search and rescue would be the state’s first priority once the storm passes. Utility crews would then begin restoring electricity, while the Florida Department of Transportation would help clear roads and debris. The speed of power restoration will depend on the scope and type of damage, he said. Downed power lines may be reconnected
