SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - A night of giving back is bringing the Suncoast community together to support children and families navigating foster care and adoption.Bridge a Life is preparing for its annual gala and silent auction, raising funds and awareness for its mission of supporting foster and adoptive families throughout the community.Executive Director Jody Jester sat down with ABC7’s Madison Glaser to discuss the organization’s impact, the challenges caregivers face and how residents can get involved.Bridge a Life provides resources and support to foster families, adoptive parents and relative and non-relative caregivers who step in when children can no longer safely remain in their homes.“We support foster and adoptive families. We also support relative and non-relative caregivers, and that’s a population that can get overlooked sometimes,” Jester said. The organization also works to prevent children from entering the foster care system when it is safe for them to remain at home.
