The No. 21 Gophers volleyball team cruised past the Wolverines 3-1 in a match that Minnesota seemed to hold steady control of.  It was the 84th time Minnesota and Michigan have faced each other, with the Gophers now holding a 67-17 record over the Wolverines.  The first set was back-and-forth between the two teams, with 11 ties and six lead changes until a deadlock at 17-17. That’s when the Gophers put on a show, winning eight of the next 10 points.  McKenna Garr sealed the 25-19 set win with an ace, one of four for the Gophers in the opening frame. Minnesota also notched four blocks in the set.  University of Minnesota Volleyball player Lucie Blažková (16) celebrates winning a point against the University of Michigan, Friday, Oct. 16, 2026 at Maturi Pavilion in Minneapolis, Minn.
