SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Not everyone is comfortable coming face-to-face with a snake, but an upcoming event in Sarasota is giving people a chance to confront those fears while learning more about some of the world’s most misunderstood animals.ReptiDay Sarasota returns Saturday, Oct. 31, featuring snakes, lizards, tortoises and other exotic animals. Beyond the opportunity to see the reptiles up close, the event focuses on educating the public about their behavior, habitats and care requirements.Elizabeth Wisneski with Repticon joined ABC7 on Wednesday, bringing several reptiles into the studio for a preview of the event. For Wisneski, one of the most rewarding parts of working with reptiles is watching people’s perceptions change once they have a chance to interact with the animals.“So you can come out, you can hold animals, you can learn about them, learn about their husbandry, learn about what their needs are, where they’re from, and just overall, get over your fears,” Wisneski said.Di
